Ryan Andrej Lough is a director, creative producer, and writer for film & television, branded content, and print media. 

Within the branded world, Ryan has created and directed campaigns for a wide variety of leading brands and global institutions, including Jeep, Ram Trucks, One Acre Fund, National Parks Foundation, Wilson Baseball, World Surf League, Visa, Kleenex, et al.

Ryan’s motion picture work has premiered at Cannes, Sundance, SXSW, and received international theatrical and streaming distribution while garnering critical acclaim, including two NY Times Critics’ Picks. These projects include Mediterranea, Entertainment, IO, the Academy Award-nominated Buzkashi Boys, and the Netflix global series Human Playground. Ryan’s latest film, a hybrid docu-narrative feature, titled You Need This, produced by Hôtel Motion Pictures and Adam McKay, will be available in 2025.

As a writer, Ryan’s work has appeared in Anthony Bourdain’s Roads & Kingdoms, CNN, Slate, and various short fiction publications.

Ryan is a graduate of Northwestern University and is a Sundance Institute alum.
