We created a multi-part doc-series campaign with World Surf League and Jeep, featuring some of the world’s top competitive surfers, showing how they actively give back to the communities that helped raise them. Written and directed by Ryan Andrej Lough. Strategy by Ryan Bucci.
Wilson Baseball – “Shigeaki Aso, Master Craftsmen”
Wilson Baseball wanted to showcase the designs and designer behind their pro-line of baseball gloves used by some of the leading MLB players in today’s game. We crafted a complete digital strategy and a capstone documentary for the campaign, focusing on the gloves' craftsmanship and Wilson's mind behind the designs – Japanese master craftsman Shigeaki Aso. This first documentary spawned a series of 22 more videos showing the gloves in use, how they are made, and content with the pros that use them. The campaign strategy included designing and building an interactive website to host all the content. This campaign was so effective it earned Wilson Baseball its highest sales year in company history. Campaign created and designed by Ryan Andrej Lough and Martin Cimek. Directed by Ryan Andrej Lough and Russell Brownley.
One Acre Fund x Northwestern Kellogg – “Alumni Spotlight”
We teamed up with Northwestern Kellogg to create a campaign that focused on the good that their esteemed alumns were doing out in the world, outside of the traditional lines of business of finance and corporate management. Kellogg wanted to show the world how good education can lead to positive change. We researched their alumns and created a multi-part doc series that highlights the endeavors of their most accomplished alumni, charting unconventional paths for fundamental social change and global health. This featured doc was the leader in the series. It’s a beautiful story of selfless leadership and empowerment. Campaign created by Lindsay Anderson, Claire Lundin, and Ryan Andrej Lough. Directed by Ryan Andrej Lough and Russell Brownley.
Neighborhood Preservation Inc – “In The Absence”
Neighborhood Preservation, Inc partnered with Hôtel’s creative and strategy teams to create a series addressing the housing crisis in America’s blighted communities, focusing on Memphis. Memphis has been ravaged by disinvestment, deficit culture, and outdated systems. Generational wealth was stripped away after the 2009 foreclosure crisis, and in its wake, a mass migration toward affordable housing stressed the marketplace. This opened an opportunity for out-of-town investors and slumlords to operate without oversight or regulation. Cash-strapped and overstretched, the city had to get smart about tackling some of our nation's most profound questions around social equality. Leaning on code enforcement and environmental court, establishing a law clinic, creating public-private partnerships, and collaborating with indigenous leaders throughout the city created a pathway towards uplifting neighborhoods and communities and turning deficits into assets. In The Absence is a nine-part docu-series exploring key housing issues in Memphis, Tennessee, and the nation. 70+ people tell the story over a 2.5-year period.
