Matt Boyd, an American director with roots in Augsburg, Germany, and the American South, has cultivated a diverse artistic vision shaped by his experiences in various communities and his passions for music, skateboarding, art, film, and surf culture. This eclectic background paved his way to filmmaking in New York City, where he has produced a range of acclaimed works including features, documentaries, concert films, and portrait profiles of today's leading artists and athletes. His debut feature, "A Rubberband is an Unlikely Instrument," premiered at Toronto's Hot Docs and was celebrated as a New York Times Critics' Pick, with Variety praising its dreamlike qualities.

Boyd's extensive filmography spans TV, branded content, and music films, working with brands like Nike, Apple, and Heineken, and directing projects for a plethora of iconic figures such as Pharrell Williams, Moby, and Kendrick Lamar.
